The Blue Rose is a Sword in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Description[]
The Blue Rose is intended as the game's "straightforward ultimate" weapon, producing the traditional sword-swing motion that quickly lands an attack bolstered by both an excellent 58 base ATK and the Slash and Ice attributes, making it especially strong against the Marbas and Silver Wolfman enemies fought in the Den of Behemoths. It can be seen as a higher-ATK clone of the Almace, another Ice-aligned sword with 47 base ATK, because both swords come pre-loaded with the Force Blast technique (↓ ↘ → + [Attack], 30 MP) and produce the same special effect when using that technique: five small ice crystals are additionally sent flying out in front of Miriam in random directions within a fairly large frontal cone. The other Sword-series techniques will have to be mastered on other weapons before they can be used on Blue Rose: Power Slash (↓ ↙ ← → + [Attack], 20 MP) on weapons like Ulfberht Sword, and Parry (→ → + [Attack], 15 MP) on the Blutgang.
The Blue Rose can only be crafted once you have reached the Den of Behemoths because the Imbrued Fang used as an ingredient only starts becoming available at that point through two separate methods. The first is that the Millionaire's Key found in a chest in the Den allows you to fight the Millionaire's Bane sub-boss in Hall of Termination, which has a 12% base chance of dropping it. The second is that the portal to The Tunnels, an optional area where blue chests randomly contain it and the other Imbrued items, only opens up in the east edge of Hidden Desert once you have entered the Den.
In order to unlock the privilege to craft the Blue Rose, you will also need to have found Legendary Equipment/R in a green chest in the upper-left corner of the large, square stairwell room leading up to the Gebel boss fight in Hall of Termination, using either Invert or High Jump to reach it. The other three ingredients required are one each of the three "elemental swords": Florenberg, the aforementioned Almace, and Caladbolg, all of which are unlocked by finding Very Fine Equipment/R at the top of a bell tower in Dian Cécht Cathedral and can be bought for 27,000G once crafted. Crafting each of these swords plays out by "upgrading" it out of a Hofud (a 19,200G sword that is crafted out of two Gold materials such as those found in blue chests throughout Hidden Desert) using a Fiend Fang dropped at an 8% base rate from both the Marbas and the Silver Wolfman, as well as the following corresponding items: a Bixbite and Flame Ring for the Florenberg, a Diamond and an Ice Ring for the Almace, and three Emeralds and a Thunder Ring for the Caladbolg.
The Blue Rose is one of many "ultimate" weapons of roughly comparable damage output unlocked by Legendary Equipment/R. It can be seen as most directly competing with the other weapons in the list that are improved by a maxed-out Sword Expertise shard, the Ridill and the Rhava Velar, both of which sport much weaker base ATK values but hit multiple times per swing. The Ridill, in particular, happens to also be a crafted "fusion" of the same three elemental swords, this time using a Dragon Heart as an extra material; it is dropped by the Abyssal Guardians in the Den of Behemoths.
Whether you craft a Blue Rose or a Ridill first, you can buy a copy of it for 43,200G and Dismantle it for 16 Alkahests in order to get a full set of Florenberg, Almace, and Caladbolg, which would cost a total of 81,000G to buy one each of otherwise. This makes it easier to craft the other sword. Crafting and then buying a second copy of Blue Rose first is the advisable course because you will also gain a free Imbrued Fang from the dismantling process, saving you the trouble of getting another one for the sake of crafting something like Eternal Blue and the aforementioned Rhava Velar.

Appearance[]
The sword is a simple white blade curved at the end to a sharp point. The black handle and hilt end of the blade are linked by a silver guard protruding from the right side of the weapon.

Trivia[]
- The Blue Rose is the sword that Miriam is depicted wielding in various promotional artworks, as well as the game's cover art. She wields it in-game (alongside the Eternal Blue) as a boss in Zangetsu Mode and Boss Revenge Mode. Since she is often seen with it at her disposal, it might be her signature weapon.
- In Episode EX in Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2, the second, third, and fourth stages are named to reference the characters that are newly playable in the episode. The second stage is named The Blue Rose as a reference to Miriam, although this weapon does not appear at all in the game.
- The Cantina of the Blue Rose is a Prayer Miriam grants to the Penitent One in the Strife & Ruin expansion for the 2019 video game Blasphemous, which includes crossover content with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
