Ayami Kojima (小島 文美 Kojima Ayami ) is a Japanese artist who primarily is an illustrator for various novels but also known outside of Japan for her conceptual video game design, most prominently the Castlevania series. She also contributed artwork to several games from Koei, such as Nobunaga's Ambition, Söldnerschild Special, and the Dynasty Warriors series. Her first work was for the SF novel trilogy Cluster Saga (1991) by Sayako Asaba. Her talents were discovered after working as a secretary. Her hobbies include reading shonen manga and watching creepy movies, the latter being more of an inspiration to the development of her unique style.
She was not initially announced to be a part of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night much to the dismay fans. She will do one package illustration claiming that it is all she has time for.
For her paintings, Kojima mainly uses a mix of traditional mediums such as Conté crayons, India ink, acrylics, etc. Her art style is mostly characterized by dark surreal imagery, incorporating contrasting values and color tones reminiscent of the Baroque style. She is self-taught.
