The Avernus Grove is a location in Classic II: Dominique's Curse. It is a glade in the wider forest that makes up the Wood of Sacrifice. It is only reachable from that area and only during the Dead Moon; during the New Moon, the path to the Avernus Grove is blocked off by foliage and the Avernus Grove itself is hidden on the map. Consequently, this is also the only overworld area where the timer pauses for Limbo's moon cycle.

This is a small area that features ruins in a Greco-Roman style. In the central arena here, Dominique faces off against an unusually large and powerful Silver Wolfman accompanied by Celaenos that fly in to drop Gusions. After the Silver Wolfman's defeat, he relocates to the town of Almadel, where he will give Dominique Coins in exchange for demon Remains, while the road opens for exploration in a crypt below the ruins. The crypt contains fast-moving Mortes and Summon Circle, a Skill Shard that grants the ability to spawn up to two magic platforms in the air at a time. This Shard is needed to access the Furnace of Dis later on, making the Silver Wolfman the only Hunter demon that must be defeated in order to finish the game.

- This area is named after Avernus, a volcanic crater in modern-day Campania, Italy. Ancient Romans believed that Avernus was an entrance to the underworld, and its name eventually became a synonym for the underworld itself.
