~ Description from Ritual of the Night |
The Assassin is an enemy in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Appearances[]
Ritual of the Night[]
Assassins are first encountered in the train section of the Bridge of Evil, during Miriam and Zangetsu's temporary alliance in their search of Gebel. Assassins, along with Lilies, comprise the main opposing force during the trip; Assassins are also encountered at the arriving station that leads to the Underground Sorcery Lab. They can somersault forward and backward, and can throw shuriken at the player for a ranged attack. While Assassins have a quick reaction time, they also take some time to take any offensive action against the player, often allowing the latter to take the initiative and attack them first. During both heroes' team up, Zangetsu will sometimes make short work of them with his teleportation and fire pillars attack.
Among the Assassin's drops is the Durable Rag, which in conjunction to a Lili's Lili Ears, is used to craft the Bunny Ears, a Head Armor that increases LCK +5, which is quite useful for farming sessions.
Lindsay's quest "Avenge the death of Shawn!" requires to kill four Assassins and rewards with a Cutpurse's Ring.
Classic II: Dominique's Curse[]
Assassins are among the "civilized" demons that live in the towns of Theurgia and Paulina. Dominique Baldwin can speak to them for information or advice. During the Dead Moon, Assassins typically jump over her and then swipe at her with their daggers. Assassins turned feral mostly show themselves indoors, though they may also appear from the shadows between buildings.
Dialogue[]
The following quotes are spoken by different Assassins in Classic II: Dominique's Curse. Red text is presented as such by the True Sight.
- "Time passes differently here. We have the New Moon, which is like day. And the Dead Moon, which is like night."
- "The merchant in Paulina is a real odd duck. He's obsessed with comfort food, which isn't easy to come by."
- Paulina
- "The Eastern sands hide more than just ruins... For those willing to take the plunge." (followed by laughter)
- This is referring to the Megiddo Depths, which appear as the sandy Megiddo Wastes before Dominique acquires the True Sight. "Taking the plunge" through the water there indeed leads her down to the Lethe Cavern, but a player who takes the advice at face value may try to sink through the quicksand in the Plain of Burning Sand instead, which will result in death.
- "Few humans dare challenge Bael. There was one man, named D... he recorded his knowledge in a tome called Logaeth."
- "The Royal Chef was buried in the south. I say a prayer whenever I pass by that tomb."
