~ Description from Ritual of the Night |
Allocer is an enemy in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Origins[]
Alloces, or Alocer, is a demon that appears in demonological grimoires such as the Liber Officiorum Spirituum, Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, and The Lesser Key of Solomon. He is described in the Lesser Key of Solomon (as the fifty-second spirit) and in the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum (as the sixty-third spirit) as a duke, taking the form of a fire-breathing, lion-headed soldier riding a horse.
The depiction of Allocer in the game is quite deviated from the origins, because it takes the form of red Buer with fierce glowing eyes and can shoot fires.
Description[]
Mobility-wise, Allocer retains practically the same moveset as Buer, by initially remaining stationary and commencing movement as it is approached, often accelerating when near the player and bouncing all over the place when hit. However, its main particularity is its ability to breathe fire; it does this by either spewing a long and constant stream of flame directed toward the player as it moves around, or by spewing quick bursts of flame, each directed at the player's current position. Its flames have relatively long reach and are spewed with considerably good accuracy.
It can drop Wool (10.00%), which if not used for crafting, can be sold for a good amount of Gold; but most importantly, it can also drop Silk (5.00%), which is required for crafting advanced gear (like the Silk Dress, which in turn is required to complete one of Abigail's quests, as well as for crafting the Coronation Gown, one of the best armors in the game).
Trivia[]
- The design and attack patterns of both Allocer and Buer are likely based on Buer and Bael from the Castlevania franchise.
