The universal solvent.

Alkahest is a Material in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.

Description[]

Alkahest is the "universal solvent", and as such it is an important item to have in order to carry out alchemy on a great scale. They are used via Johannes's "Dismantle" service and serve to break apart items into their component Materials. However, their use can become very costly due to several of them usually being required during a single dismantling process, with more valuable items requiring 10 or more. Alkahest is quite pricey; while they can be purchased at Dominique's supply post, each unit costs 800G.

Nevertheless, dismantling items is essential in order to obtain the rarest materials in the game, particularly Gold, which is prohibitively difficult to farm in any other manner.

Fortunately, Alkahests are also dropped by certain enemies such as Ghosts, Poltergeists and Amys. Ghosts can be found in the Entrance, not too far away from a Warp Room, so the player can take a moment to farm as many as needed and benefit from their usage in the early game.

Trivia[]

  • While classified in-game as a Material, the Alkahest is also used as an Ingredient during certain Food preparations.
  • Alkahest was far easier to come by in the initial release of the game. Prior to the day-one patch, Ghosts and Poltergeists would drop 5 (reduced to 1) and Amys would drop 10 (reduced to 2). The supply post cost was 50G rather than 800G.
